refund problems

I recently purchased a text book for my daughter and her friend. After receiving the books they attended lectures only to find out they had the incorrect edition of the book. The book had no edition number in it or on the front cover. This was confirmed by Stacey when I asked the question.

I called Take A lot ( Olivia 16/02 13:15) asking if I can return the books, I explained the problem and I was told by her that it would not be a problem and she arranged collection.

Once the books were collected I was informed by the warehouse that the seal had been broken and I would not be able to get a refund?? How else were we to open the books and check the edition? Then the CDs were suddenly scratched - even though they were never used.

I spoke to Lesley Anne and then her supervisor Stacey who promised to look into the problem and get back to me. I explained that as it is a text book, could she please try and rush so I could go and buy the correct text book.

Then when I tried calling her this afternoon suddenly the call gets dropped every time I ask for her. 3x in 20 minutes cannot be a coincedence.

If Take A Lot are not going to refund the books they can at least tell me when they will be returned.
