Rather order from Amazon and do not order from Takealot.

I placed a large order with Takealot on the 3rd of March, spending thousands of rands. I am also a Takealot More member, so I expected a better level of service.

Since placing the order, the experience has been extremely disappointing. The delivery date originally showed the 9th of March. We even arranged leave from work to be at home for the delivery. Unfortunately, the day came and went and the order never arrived.

When we contacted the call centre, we were told that the matter would be escalated and that someone would keep us updated. However, there has been no communication from their side — we have had to follow up ourselves the entire time.

Today, the 10th of March, the order still shows as “delivered by the 9th,” even though we never received it. We called again and had to take yet another day of leave to be at home in case the delivery arrived. It is now the afternoon and there is still no order.

We have now been told the delivery will only arrive on the 11th of March, which means taking yet another day off work. We pleaded for the delivery to be made today while we are still at home, but our request has been completely ignored.

The lack of communication and customer care has been extremely frustrating. This has been a very disappointing experience and truly poor service.
