Promises and Lies
Order ********** 5 - ordered and paid on 13 Dec. SMS sent on 16th Dec promising delivery on 18th Dec. It never arrived. SMS sent 18 Dec at 17H08 saying it would only be delivered on 19 December. No apology or reason given. ONE WHOLE DAY WASTED.
Order ********** 3 - ordered and paid on 6 Dec, estimated delivery 12 Dec. 12 Dec sms was sent promising delivery on the 13 Dec. It never arrived. I had to log an online query on the 14 as to is whereabouts. Auto response said 2-12 working hours. I couldn't wait at home again, so I phoned. A response was promised by the consultant within 1 hour. I have still not received feedback from the call. On 17 Dec finally received an email that delivery would be on the 18 Dec - no apology or reason given for the 5 day delay. ANOTHER DAY WASTED.
Order ********** - ordered and paid 3 Dec. Email sent 13 Dec (TEN DAYS LATER) that one item could not be sourced - despite the fact that it was in stock when the order was placed 10 days earlier. 18 Dec sms was sent promising delivery on 19 Dec. AGAIN it never arrived. Email was sent at 19H00 on 19 Dec saying the delivery was sent to the wrong facility - AGAIN! ANOTHER WHOLE DAY WASTED! After complaining, I was sent the explanation "systems error and cannot be fixed at this time". I was unhappy about the explanation, and when the email was sent by Takealot requesting feedback on this service, I rep**** with all the details. I never received any comeback from this.... I was then sent an SMS saying that the order would be delivered on the 21 Dec. I waited on the 21 Dec, and was sent an SMS at 16H23 saying that the order couldn’t be delivered as no one was available to receive the delivery – a blatant lie! I immediately called the call center, and they promised to sort it. The consultant called back shortly afterwards and said she had made contact with the couriers and the driver would return to make the delivery. He never pitched. At 17H10 I was sent an SMS saying that the delivery was rescheduled for Fri the 22 Dec. ANOTHER WHOLE DAY WASTED! I have now on Fri the 22nd Dec called the call center AGAIN. (why do I have to follow up when Takealot is supposed to be the “service” provider???) The consultant said she would “ try to get the order prioritized…..Maybe the courier depot will pick up her email…..” I’m not holding my breath….. This is not good enough. How do the above three orders (IN ONE WEEK) fit into your charter of customer service? Is it ok to have a customer waste FOUR days of productive work time waiting for orders that don't arrive? How would your business function with FOUR wasted days of downtime? No satisfactory reason was given for the delays. No attempt was made to schedule a special delivery to avoid further downtime. No recompense was offered to make up for the four wasted days of work time. Are you really serious about customer service???
