Price ****ming and False Advertising
On Black Friday I was delighted to find a hairdryer marked down by 90% - from R7,999 to R788. Marketed as "Professional New Edition Fast Hair Dryer - Red. Takealot are a trusted ecommerce site - I often buy from them - I purchased the item.
Today I checked the website again. The exact same product (red) is now for sale for R788. No savings, that's the retail price. However, the grey version (same product - "Professional New Edition Fast Hair Dryer - Grey) today offers 82% discount so marked down from R7,999 to R1,399?
Also interesting to note is that when you view the images of said products, the second image reads "Dyson Supersonic" which is extremely misleading and can only be construed as false advertising.
I have logged a return and requested credit for this item. Besides which I received my order this morning (I purchased two other trusted and much used items) and instead of a hair dryer I received a Potato Ricer. Sign from the universe?
Takealot - you sold me a R7,999.00 item through false advertising, inflating the price to lure customers in and selling it as something it was not through misleading imagery.
Deliver on your promise.
