Prefering Amazon over takealot

I used to be a dedicated Takealot shopper. Nowadays I prefer Amazon for a few basic reasons.

1. During this month, my friend ordered something from Takelot. A week after she ordered and paid, I decided to buy something from Amazon that would have only been in stock in one weeks time. Needless to say. Our packages arrived on the same day. Bearing in mind my package came from America and her package from South-Africa.

2. Also I have found that even with the shipping, import and tax fees you pay with Amazon, the products I wanted was delivered straight to my door for much cheaper than Takealot.

3. Best thing of Amazon, they deliver straight to your door, so you basically skip the post office and don’t have to pay ridiculous courier costs.

4. Recently takealot had a faulty price on their app which advertised camera equipment for price my friend paid for (payments went through) only to find out that they sent her a mail saying it is regrettably out of stock but is clearly still advertised for the correct price now on takealot. This really seems Dishonourable.

Don’t get me wrong, I frequently buy from takealot if they have really good specials, I am just dissapointed that it is cheaper to import than support locally.
