Poor service from Takealot
I ordered two towel racks from takealot, on delivery I noticed that one was not sealed. After investigating the contents I realised that the rack was not built to last, the materials used are too light for a towel rack. I returned items back to takealot and stated in the return form that one of the items wasn't sealed. To my surprise the return was declined, reason being I have broken the seal. I responded to the evaluator and explained that on delivery the seal was already broken but I never received any acknowledgement of my message instead they went on ahead and sent the items back to me and I didn't accept the delivery. I decided to reach out to takealot to try and explain that my deliverer is being mishandled but I was met with AI- like communication from their system. These days when you communicate with takealot you only get one message from them, any further communication from you gets ignored. My point is, we live in an information time where transactions and item movement is storedin databases, the idea is that someone from takealot can always check if an item is being delivered for the first time or not. I didn't break the seal of this item, takealot needs to take their customers seriously and stop playing big corporation on me. This wouldn't be the first time I receive an item with a broken seal from takealot, I have kept most as I was happy with the quality of the product. They even have it on their policies that some discounted itemsmay be sold unsealed as quoted below.
"Certain parts of this Policy do not apply to Unboxed Deals, reconditioned products or used products, and this is indicated in the relevant sections below. Unboxed Deals are returned products that are offered for sale at discounted prices, because their original packaging is damaged, unsealed or missing, or the products show signs of handling and/or re-packaging."
