Poor Quality Products

I recently purchased a bathroom scale from Takealot. Besides the product being delivered almost two hours after the 17H00 deadline, without any communication from Takealot to let me know that it is being delivered late, when I removed the product from the box, it did not work.

The part I am seriously disappointed with, is the quality of the product, it is a cheap Chinese product. I was especially shocked when I checked the batteries, to find that they are also some cheap Chinese make. I am convinced that these batteries do not comply to the required standards of the National Bureau of Standards. I was always under the impression that Takealot was where one can purchase quality products. However, after having a closer look at the scale and seeing the details on the box as to where the product was manufactured, I took a closer look at their site and the products being advertising and noticed that a significant quantity of products are cheap Chinese branded products. These are most definitely inferior products, compared to the branded products we are all fami**** with. If Takealot is going to revert to selling these cheap Chinese products, which one can go and buy at any China Mall, they are going to start losing a lot of your loyal customers.

By making these cheap Chinese products available, Takealot are affecting the sales of quality legitimate branded products, many of whom provide jobs for South Africans. But, this would not be of any concern to them, as they are clearly in this for making as much profit as possible and don’t want a lecture on morals and values. This is evident, because nowhere on their site can you lodge a complaint regarding this.

If you are going to continue using Takealot, please be careful as to what you order from them and rather stick to the brands you know. Personally, I am rather going to try a few of the other sites, such as LOOT, as they do not appear to have degreesed to the cheap Chinese products.
