Poor quality product sold by Takealot

I purchased a Canon G2000 series printer in 2018 for home use for the kids school printing requirements. In the last few days the printer has come up with a 5B00 error and I cannot print any longer. The ink tanks are still over 50% full. Searching online on this error code I came across multiple complaints of the same issue.

Strangely enough this error creeps up almost immediately after the 1 year warranty expires.
