Poor quality product not refunded

I bought 3 reusable sponge masks for R109 each with breathing valves. At the time of my purchase the masks were returnable and had a 6 month warranty. After only 2 days the first mask broke and I arranged to return it while I proceeded to start wearing another one. Shortly after the broken mask was picked up by Takealot, the second one also broke and I attempted to return it as well as the remaining mask, but without success as Takealot had in the meantime marked the masks down to R65 and they were now, all of a sudden, also non-returnable? I have sent 2 mails explaining this and asking them to refund me to which they did reply each time, although their explanation for not being able to do this remains the same: "The masks are non-returnable and they can not refund or replace them because of the terms and conditions".
