Phone bought from Takealot gets blacklisted

My mother, purchased a new Samsung phone from Takealot. She has purchased many things from Takealot so would had no reason to doubt using the platform.

Recently, the phone was blacklisted. Enquiring with the network, they advised the phone was purchased through a non-authorized reseller and all phones of this nature are being blacklisted. Takealot are giving a platform to this company and many others without any verification that they are selling legitimate products and making a profit on the sale. Now my mom has a phone, 1 year old, thinking she bought it from a reputable retailer which is useless.

A quick search will highlight many such stories online. It seems you can't trust Takealot as a reputable source to purchase mobile phones.
