Orders get cancelled by takealot

Good day,

I am extremely unhappy and disappointed with Takealot regarding my order *******.

Two items from this order were cancelled after I had already paid for them and had been waiting for almost a month. The order was placed and paid for on **30 July 2026**, and between **26 and 28 August**, two of the items were cancelled.

The first item was a swimming pool-related product. The feedback I received from Takealot was that I should simply find another seller who sells the same product and purchase it from them. I find this extremely unacceptable. I have already been waiting for this item for almost a month, and I specifically wanted this product.

I also ordered **two identical water bottles**. I waited almost a month for these as well, only for Takealot to cancel one of the water bottles after I had already been waiting all this time.

My question is: **Why are products being advertised and made available for purchase on Takealot if the sellers do not actually have the products in stock?**

I have been purchasing from Takealot for many years, but this is becoming increasingly frustrating. When I place an order, I expect the products to be available and delivered within the promised timeframe. I do not expect to wait almost a month only to be told that an item has been cancelled.

This has happened before, and because of repeated cancellations and problems with my orders, I have already started moving some of my business purchases to Amazon. I am even prepared to order products internationally myself.

The reason I order from Takealot is because I expect it to be **faster and more convenient than ordering from overseas**. If I have to wait weeks and then have items cancelled anyway, there is very little reason for me to continue using Takealot.

I would appreciate a proper explanation as to why these items were allowed to be ordered and paid for in the first place, and why it took almost a month before I was informed that they would not be fulfilled.

I look forward to your response and would appreciate this matter being taken seriously.

Kind regards, Izanne Potgieter
