Order a laptop and recieve washing powder - takealot

On the 31st of May 2021 I ordered a laptop from Takealot for R9999. I was delighted to find out that I would recieve my laptop on my birthday the 2nd of June 2021. The excitement was short lived when the driver came to deliver my parcel. I told the driver that box is too small for what I ordered. He said sometimes they send the power supply separate. In the box was washing powder. I phoned Takealot immediately to find out what was going on. I was told to do a replacement on their website. The washing powder was collected the next day the 3rd of June 2021. I have made a total of 7 call to their call centre with no results or empathy for my problem. All they can tell me is that they emailed warehouse and is waiting for feedback. If I ask to speak to a manager or supervisor I get told that there is no manager or supervisor. How does that work? I also asked if they can't call the warehouse. Apparently they can't phone the warehouse? This has been going on for 9 days now with without any proper explanation.

When i track the status on their website it only shows activity for the 2nd of June 2021.

I was told yesterday by Lance ( Call centre agent ) That their might by a problem with stock. I refuse to accept this and will demand the same laptop that i order. When i ordered the laptop it showed that they had stock.

Update : Takealot credited my account with the amount of R9999 to be used towards my next purchase or I can ask for a refund on the credit. This is totally unacceptable. Please show me exactly where in your refund policy does it state that in the event of Takealot not being to fulfill their commitment to the buyer due to an error or just plain negligence that the. I've ordered the laptop while it was on special for R9999. While you were passing the buck trying to trace your fault the price went up to R13999 and now all of a sudden you are using the excuse that you are out of stock. Surely it is takealot's responsibility to either supply me with a similar or better laptop or to refund me for the amount of R13999 so that I can then buy something similar from someone else who does have stock!

Correction : the price went up to R11999 and not R13999 but regardless of the price that it went up to, please explain to me why I should be taking the knock for your mistake? The person responsible for whatever me ending up with washing powder should be held accountable. Not the consumer!
