Numerous issues with Takealot.com order

I have always been a huge fan of Takealot, but my last couple of orders were an absolute mess.

A couple of weeks ago, I ordered a Lego Defender meant to be a birthday present. When it arrived it looked like it was put through a meat grinder. I returned it, and a new one was delivered with no issues, so I assumed this would be a once-off event.

Two weeks ago, I placed another order for a bunch of baby toys, and a Nintendo Switch game which was again, ironically enough, meant to be a birthday present. When the package arrived, the Nintendo game was missing. After back and forth with the client service people, they said it was a packaging error, and they would send me the game. Two days later the package was delivered, but instead of the Nintendo game, it contained Volcano earphones and a nappy cream sample.

Again I contacted the client service people to arrange for the incorrect package to be picked-up and the game to be delivered. They picked up the incorrect items, and yesterday I received an email saying that the return has been received and should the items pass quality checks, I will be credited. I NEVER ASKED TO BE CREDITED. I just want the game to be delivered as per my order.

The amount of admin and frustration I experienced with this order is enough to push me to other online retailers.

And on top of everything there is a very disappointed child who is still without a birthday present.
