Not taking responsibility

I purchased the Alien Deck building card game end November last year. I'm sure if you understand the nature of this product and the fact that it includes 600 plus play cards there won't be any issues. All seemed in order when I opened the box and only last week when I got people together to play the game we realised that some deck cards didn't't appear. After that I started counting all the cards and realised each deck had a few missing. It added up to 44 cards. I didn't play immediately after receipt because it was high season for us and work kept me busy almost 24/7. Takealot refuses to take any responsibility for this, saying that you only have a week to report missing items. Well like I said before, I opened the box the next day after delivery to check that the play mat, cards decks, instructions and all that was there and it was all there. At first i wanted to give this as a present to a friend but then I felt that this product was ideal for me. Unfortunately for me the week passed without me realising I had to play or count each card in that time. Upperdeck admitted that there is a global problem with missing cards but Takealot still does not accept responsibility! Not right
