Non delivery of costly item

An item amounting to just under R900 was not delivered.

On 3 December I received more than 1 delivery of orders from Takelaot and other companies (following Black Friday). My nanny received the parcels on my behalf. That evening I opened the parcels and discovered that an item was missing i.e. 1 x baby born so soft touch boy.

I called Takealot immediately and informed Lulama Spele. She informed me that all items could not be released at the same time and that I would receive the missing item by the coming Friday (6 December 2019).

I followed up on 13 December due to no delivery and spoke to Zubair Cassim. He confirmed that the item was dispatched to Fedex for delivery and he would follow up with Fedex and provide me with feedback the following day. I did not hear from him since.

I then received an email from Juanita Nzuko Joseph on 16 December 2019 with a completely different story for the first time i.e. that the delivery team indicate that all 4 items of that order were delivered. She attached a proof of delivery which if she had scrutinized would have realised that it was multiple orders and that 1 parcel size doesn't even make sense as it appears to be a rod which is more than 1 meter long. She also would have realised through the sizes and weights of the parcels that only 1 baby born doll was delivered (the second item on the proof of delivery). I responded confirming that it is definitely not the case that all 4 items were delivered. I also requested that she confirm in writing if Takealot refuses to deliver what I paid for so that I can escalate this matter and have not received any response as yet.

I am a regular takealot customer and do not accept such service. Apart from poor service, it is loss of money, inconvenience caused to my family because I have twin girls and only 1 doll, as well as an indirect attack on my credibility. I am very disappointed with Takealot.
