Never Buy eBooks From Takealot!!

<p>So my iPad had a problem, as they often do, and I had to do a full reset and re-install everything. When I went in to the Takealot reader to download my books again I got the error: "The token is not available"</p> <p>when I contacted customer support (which annoyingly can only be done via online form with zero human interaction like the good days of Kalahari), I got a reply to say, sorry, you have downloaded too many times, you've lost your books.</p> <p>what?!! Thousands of Rands gone?! I can never read my books? At least with a physical book I can insure it and replace it. I thought the whole point of digital was that what you owned was always there, always in the cloud!</p> <p>now what I am being told is that I was merely renting the book (for the exact retail price of purchasing a physical copy).</p> <p>ive been told that if you upgrade your iPad or iPhone, or you have to reset it after a problem, that you will lose your library also!!! Unbelieveable!!</p> <p>iasked for a manager to call me, nobody has. Nobody has rep**** to the email either. That's why these ***ards do email only, to hide from customers and make it impossible for an issue to be resolved!</p> <p>Never, ever, ever buy an eBook from Takealot! You're gambling your money and you only get to rent the book not own it. In a problem you will lose everything, and nobody will care or lift a finger to help!</p> <p>Takealot indeed, they've just taken a lot of my money but given me nothing!</p>
