Negative Experience with Takealot.com

Negative Experience with Takealot on 31 August 2018. Perused their Website for a cellphone and came across a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 64GB LTE 6.3" – Black, for R1900.00 Sold by NMSB Technologies and "Fulfilled by Takealt". The phone was ordered and I was sent Order No. ********** 5 awaiting payment. I then proceeded to make payment which was accepted by Takealot. That was at 08h44. At 09h58 I received an E-mail from Takealot stating that the order is cancelled, the reason given "Our supplier has notified us that they no longer have stock of the following item(s) in your order". I sent an E-mail back to Takealot stating that I do not accept the cancellation as it is a "poor excuse". I then sent E-mails to Rene Joubert, Jason Rodwell, Riyaad Mia, Theresa Galant Toefgah Williams, all of whom I have had dealings with in the past. Again I received a "No reply" Email for these persons. I then searched the Internet and found E-mails for CEO Kim Reid and other Senior Management Sam Joynt, Dave Buck, Gary Altini, Frederick Zietsman and Laura Hartnady. I sent them all E-mails with my complaint and received two "Out of Office" E-mails back from Gary Altini and Laura Hartnady and was give alternative E-mails for Tessa Ackermann and Ryan Ferreira. I sent E-mails to them also regarding my complaint. The E-mail was sent to ********** also and bounced back as a "No reply" E-mail. This is the only E-mail address that is made available by Takealot for any type of communication. At 12h19 I received a phone call on my cell from Donay Ontong trying to explain why the order was cancelled. I told her to send me an E-mail with the explanation. She asked what outcome di I want and I told her that I wanted the item that I had ordered and paid for as it was advertised on Takealot's website. At 13h35 I received an E-mail from Donay Ontong stating amongst other wording, that "We have provided full context to the pricing error which was inadvertently advertised at R1900 and have subsequently removed this listing from our site" and "we have thus credited your profile to the amount of R1900, as paid for this item in order: ********** 5". The E-mail further goes on to say "As a gesture of goodwill, we have also credited R200 to your Takealot profile which may be redeemed towards future orders". In my opinion this is an "insult" and a cheap means of avoiding to honour their slogan of "Fulfilled by Takealot". I rejected this action of Takealot and continued to correspond by E-mail with Takealot and their Senior management. NOT one of the Senior Management including the CEO, Kim Reid corresponded back to me. I pointed out to Takealot that their explanations were conflicting as they had first stated that the "Supplier was out of Stock" but it later became apparent that the real problem was regarding the "advertised price" of the item and NOT the non availability of the item in question. Takealot is the only entity that can load these prices on their Website and have the tendency to cover up for their so called "errors" by coming up with pathetic excuses. At 16h54 I received an E-mail from Lee-Ann Pietersen of Takealot stating "Your request (Takealot query for order ********** 5) has been updated". At NO stage did I request for the order to be cancelled - it was cancelled by Takealot, but when I checked the Website, it stated the order was cancelled and my account credited with the amount of R1900.00 plus a R200.00 "Goodwill Gesture". I told Takealot that I want the item I ordered and NOT a Credit plus a R200.00 " Goodwill Gesture". Takealot must honour their advertised prices for goods placed on their Website for sale. I am in possession of all the E-mail correspondence as well as the E-mails where Takealot accepted my order, allocated an order number to it and the accepted my payment. I have had a previous experience also where my order and payment was accepted for an item that was "in stock", but when I went to collect it, I was told there was "No stock" (Supplier out of Stock). This was in March 2017 and the Supplier is "Still out of Stock".
