Mr D Food which is part of Takealot rips its customers off

<p>I placed an order with Mr D Food yesterday evening. We received the order with a key item missing. I contacted Mr D Food call centre and advised a female agent (they claim their calls are recorded therefore this should be on record). She assured me that she will have a driver deliver the short item.</p> <p> </p> <p>An hour and half passed without the delivery. I called back and a really useless call centre agent made it impossible to assist me or understand the fact that I ordered a meal at 17h00 and it was now 20h00 and delivery of the short item was no longer an option. I requested a refund of the undelivered item and some of the other items which could not be consumed without the undelivered item in lieu of them having to be eaten together.</p> <p> </p> <p>The agent assured me that a manager will call me back. 10mins later I received a call and it was not from a manager. Another agent called me and stated, "Sorry sir we cannot refund you, you have to keep the items which you cannot eat without the undelivered item because we are unable to refund you." <br /> <br /> I went to great length to explain to the second agent that this is ********* service as Mr D Food cannot accept their customer to pay for an item in advance and then be forced to keep the item even though the consumer cannot use or eat it because of a delivery issue which is their fault.<br /> <br /> A manager was then finally put on the phone and he assured me that he will refund me for the undelivered items and the other items which could not be consumed. He assured me that he will send me an email confirming the refund. It is now 29-07-2017 at 07h31 and I have not received this email or refund from Mr D Food.<br /> <br /> Mr D Food used to be a reliable service and I am disappointed to find that they are now an ********* company. I use Takealot on a regular basis and spend thousands of Rand’s with Takealot and if this is how this group of companies operates then I will surely never use either of them and will make an effort to share my experience and call recordings on social media to ensure that other customers are not "******" by Mr D Food or Takealot.</p> <p> <br />This complaint is posted against Takealot name because they do not respond under Mr Delivery which proves that they dont care about their customers.</p>
