Money Paid 1 Month ago but No Delivery
We ordered a Guitar Strap one month ago from [URL Removed] the strap was paid for immediately on the 29 November 2015. We sent an email approximately 2 weeks after the order was placed. We were told that the item is only scheduled to arrive on the 29 December 2015 and there is nothing to be concerned about. We received an email this morning stating that the item is out of stock and the money would be credited to the Takealot Account. This has happened previously whereby Takealot claimed that the vehicle was hijacked and the item was out of stock, upon questioning the courier company driver he confirmed that there was no hijacking incident. This is really unacceptable for an online retailer to keep a customer's money for an entire month and then decide that the item cannot be sourced. I called 0n 4 different occasions this morning and was put on hold for 5 minutes at a time. I then requested to speak to a manager and was transferred to Janet who promised to call back but didn't. I then received an email from Alonda who stated that this unfortunate but things get sold online in seconds, however do you as the online retailer wait one month after taking the customers money.
We understand your anger and frustration over the out of stock situation with your order. We would have loved to offer you your desired outcome, but we've exhausted all our options of sourcing this item for you elsewhere. When listing lead time items on our site, we do so in light of information received by our suppliers w.r.t. their ability to supply these items to us in the future. Regrettably our suppliers have let us down in this regard, which is why we've had to cancel your order. This is not an excuse for the disappointing experience, but merely an explanation. We've asked our complaints team to liaise with the relevant product department to confirm if we perhaps have alternatives to offer you.
Our team will need a bit of time to further address this matter, but they'll be in touch with you as soon as possible and hopefully provide you with a suitable solution to resolve this matter with you.
Sincerely,
