Missing item and no feedback!!!

I bought 2 items from takealot.com on Wednesday 2/12/2020 and paid via my credit card. Estimated delivery was going to be Monday 7/12. Without any notification, the box arrived at my husbands work place in Spartan on Friday 4/12. He took the box, opened it and found that an item was missing. I ordered a Dolce and Gabanna perfume and a set of sports resistance bands. The missing item was the perfume. I did not think anything of this as it has happened in the past where my items were delivered on separate occasions due to stock issues at Takealot. I expected the perfume to come on Monday and when it wasn’t delivered first thing in the morning, I went onto my app and saw that according to Takealot, my whole order was delivered on Friday 4/12. I immediately took it up with Takealot on an email and got a few responses regarding whether the box was tampered with and they even wanted a picture of the unopened box. WHO TAKES PICTURES OF THEIR DELIVERY BOX BEFORE OPENING IT??? That was the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard. I explained to them that the box was not tampered with as far as my husband could remember but obviously it was not inspected as we didn’t expect an item to be missing. After responding to the last email, I heard absolutely nothing! I phoned on Sunday 13/12 and was told not to reorder the item as then I will have 2 of this if they realise they made a packing mistake and send it to me again. I’ve held off of ordering this and now we are A WEEK FROM CHRISTMAS!!! I have still had no feedback and this is supposed to be a Christmas gift for my sister. I am absolutely disgusted and disappointed in such a massive delivery and ordering service such as Takealot. I’ve never had this problem before and the amount of time it takes to investigate is shocking!!! 2020 has been a hard enough year as it is and the little bit of extra money you have to buy Christmas gifts, this has to happen. The item is R500, I don’t have that laying around to just reorder missing items due to their mistakes or theft. PLEASE PLEASE..... SORT THIS OUT!!!
