Miss-informed Helpline

While I was adding my items to the cart on Takealot.com (19th December) I had estimated my delivery to arrive at a time (22nd December) where I was to be at my work location. Upon payment, the delivery time was set for the 27th of December. I had contacted takealot on their helpline and informed the lady on the other end of my miscalculation. I was unaware that holiday times would affect delivery times. She had taken my email and requested I send the address I would like the current shipping address changed to. As I received the email I forwarded my address and apologised for the inconvenience.

It had been a while and the order preview address on my takealot account was still my work address. I emailed her again asking if it is possible that she had requested the change. A few moments later I had received an email from "the takealot team" saying that my request will be reviewed in the next 2-12 working days. Leading me to believe that she had forgotten to log my request and had only just logged in the request when I emailed her for the second time.

The 27th had come (today) and I had received an sms from takealot informing me that my parcel is on it's way to my work address. As I live far away from where I work I contacted the helpline once again for assistance. The lady on the other end apologised and informed me that it is impossible to change the shipping address and that I can only reschedule my parcel to be delivered on a date that I will be at my original address.

I am afraid that my parcel will be delivered and it will either be misplaced, ****** or lost as a result of the staff who answer takealot helpline calls and emails are misinformed.
