Misleading daily deals

<p>Is Takealot intentionally trying to mislead customers in regards to the recommended retail price of their daily deals? I've noticed quite a few times the "was" price listed is ridiculously higher than the true "was" price. I've kept quiet each time I've seen this but now I'm fed up. (I do a lot of price comparisons, so I know my prices - on Takealot and other stores)</p> <p> </p> <p>Example: Todays deal included Orkney Snork Nie set of 3 DVDs (Vol 6 to 8) - "was" price is listed at R399. Making it R133 per DVD. These DVDs were NEVER being sold at R133 each. In fact no one sells them at that price. Even Musica who is known to be more expensive sells them for much less.</p> <p> </p> <p>Orkney Snork Nie set of 5 DVDs (Vol 1 to 5) is also on special and it lists their "was" price at R499 which makes each DVD R99 which is in line with their actual price.</p> <p> </p> <p>Does Takealot think their customers are stupid? I was going to buy the deals until I noticed this blatant lie. The ASA has already given you a slap on the wrist concerning this very thing. Surely you've learned from this? Or do you not care?</p>
