Misleading and bait-and-switch sales

I am definitely one of the first people to order on Takealot back in 2011. I re**** on Takealot during lockdown. I stopped picking up heavy bags of dog food at makro 2 years ago. I sent gifts ordered from Takealot.

My relationship with Takealot stops here 1. Sales are misleading I waited for the black Friday blue dot sale that started 2 November for baby items. Turns out I've been buying cheaper than these 34% drop in price from Dischem throughout the year. I ordered a Garmin instinct from Amazon UK and got lower price than the do called sale on Takealot.

2. Bait and switch 3 November: I ordered a breastmilk pump on sale for R230 and it was not enough for free delivery so I added items o had in my wishlist to reach a total of R1,522.

13 November: this Is 10 days later. I get a message that the breast pump is cancelled and the rest of the order will be delivered. I needed the pump urgently on the 3rd already, now the message days the test of the order will be delivered 23 November. That's an additional 10 days from 3 November. I can get the SAME breast pump at normal price OVERNIGHT from TAKEALOT at R390. So Takealot allowed a supplier to cancel the pump to sell it at a higher price as 'on stock' after wasting 10 days of my time waiting.

I tried to cancel the entire order, TnC state I can't cancel as the status is shipped. How is it shipped if the delivery date is 10 days in the future?

I complained on twitter and was told that the order will be returned and I will be refunded without me doing anything.

I ordered a pump and my wishlist from faithful to nature and it is on the way already.

Lo and behold! The TAKEALOT order arrived at my house (excluding the pump) this morning. I asked Takealot what's potting. Twitter says I must individually return each item via the website and ask for a refund for each item.

3. Bank charges Instead of returning the funds as a lump-sum into the bank account I paid from, I will get 6 different deposits each attracting bank charges for me.

I will happily return to running buying items in person than to be misled by Takealot again.
