Misleading advertising

I bought earbuds on the Takealot app advertised at R279, but once you click the item, the price changes to R478. I didn’t know this and chose the white option, assuming it was just a colour difference. After paying, I realised the functions and product are completely different, and the price advertised is actually for the black earbuds, which have more features.

This is misleading advertising.

I contacted the Takealot call centre and spoke to two agents. The first one said they would escalate to a manager, but I wasn’t transferred. They logged an escalation for a call-back, yet four hours later, no one contacted me. I called again and was told to keep waiting for a manager.

All I want is the product that was advertised for R279 — the black earbuds — and for my order to be corrected accordingly.
