Misleading

Takealot – Secret Summer Deals (Crack the Clue and get ****MED – with 80% off) Today, 26th of October clue received for Secret Summer Deal At first, I tried looking in the beauty section. Strange thing was that numerous items were “discounted by between 50 & 70%” This is an estimate of what I saw as I unfortunately did not make any screenshots. Nothing however looked like a good deal with more than 80%.

A colleague of mine mentioned that it might be a defuser. At 09:42 I got the a page and saw a defuser at a “discounted price” of 87%. (If calculated, normal price should be R2169.23) I immediately bought the item in two colors as I knew the “deals” goes quite quickly. Only afterwards I realized that this was not actually a good deal. When I went in again at 11:07, the “discount %” was gone and the normal price was what i paid!? All of a sudden, the item was no longer discounted from R2169.23 to R282.00, but the normal price was just R282.

This is false advertising by Takealot, by misleading customers to buy different items at “discounted prices”. Pathetic!
