Milex 25L Rotisserie Air Fryer rusting

Milex 25L Rotisserie Air Fryer purchased - my air fryer rusted so badly after just 3 months and Takealot says their is visible user damage ( their exact words). How does a person cause rust? I see there are many complaints on various platforms about the rust issue with this unit. Surely the retailers should be aware of this?
