LG 42L Black Smog Microwave - MS4295DIS

Bought a LG Microwave on 17 September 2019 and recieved the item 04 October 2020. The microwave now does not word. I made contact with Takealot to and the item was returned the very next day. They responded that the microwave only has a 6 month warranty and cannot assist any further. When I informed them that LG'swebsite shows that the item has a 24month warranty they said that I did not buy the microwave directly through LG and that I cannot refer to there warranty.

My microwave was send back - still not working. They did not even try to assist with the repairs. Should they then not make contact with LG to have the item repaired under the LG warranty?
