Late delivery. Poor support. No accountability.
The level of service is terrible. I ordered same day delivery and ended up receiving my package at 16:00 the following day. My delivery fee was refunded as credit, which I am forced to use on TAKEALOT.com. This all happened even though I informed them of the problem 6 hours before they realised it was there.
Details: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I ordered a GoPro Hero5 and a few accessories on 31 October just after 10am. I was excited to receive my delivery so I opted for the R120 "Guaranteed Same Day Delivery" option. At 13:13 I tracked my parcel and saw it was still in the warehouse, so I emailed TAKEALOT.com and received a response from Melissa Opperman. Who assured me the package is being picked and packed and would definitely arrive the same day. At 14:49 nothing changed so I phoned TAKEALOT.com. The operator assured me everything was in order but they would follow up. I didn't hear anything back. At 15:30 I phoned again and spoke to Ruth Saal. She then later emailed me (15:42) and aid she would escalate the request and follow up with me.
I then phoned again at 17:18, the operator told me that sometimes the deliveries can happen until 20:00, So I stayed at my work address after hours (I usually leave at 16:00, but stayed until 19:45). At 18:32 I emailed Ruth again and expressed my dissatisfaction. I received a response at 19:32 notifying me there was an error and they are sorry but they would be unable to make my delivery on the day. Really? I informed you of a potential problem more than 6 hours prior, phoned many times, and you convinced me to stay at work almost 4 hours longer than I should've.
They apologised and said the money for the delivery had been refunded. But, it was as credit on TAKEALOT.com. So either way I was forced to spend the money on them again. Therefore I emailed Ruth, expressing my reason for being displeased with the resolution and asked to be forwarded to someone higher up who can resolve the issue in a satisfactory manner. At 21:18 I received an email from Fadwa Dassie, which didn't once make any reference to my grievance email, all the email did was repeat the apology.
I find this level of service and clear disregard for the concerns of customers to be troublesome. Not only did they not check whether my initial and subsequent claims might be correct and that there is an error with my delivery, but they then - for all intents and purposes - keep the money I spent on delivery. The motto for their grievances should be: If there is any problem on our side, don't worry we will make it yours.
