JUST TERRIBLE RESPONCE ON A COMPLAINT

On Wednesday 26 April 2023 I place an order with Takealot. I paid extra for same day delivery as we were going on holiday. The parcel contained dog food as my pet sitter does not have a drivers license. Wednesday came and gone, no parcel. Thursday I made numerous calls only to find out my parcel was damage, hence no delivery.

I explained I am on holiday and my dogs need their food. They had the whole Wednesday and Thursday to return and replace the decent parcel and to have it delivered. Thursday they said it would be delivered. Thursday came and gone. NO DELIVERY. I WAS LIVERRED. Friday I had the same story. After about 5 hours in total on the phone since the Wednesday, they delivered THE DAMAGED PARCEL FRIDAY 17H25.

The pet sitter had no choice but to feed my dogs from the open / damaged pack of dog food. I explained to them that I had no choice but to use this pack of food as I am on holiday and cannot buy another bag.

I WOULD UNDER NORMAL CIRCOMSTANCES NEVER USE FOOD OUT OF AN OPEN BAG!!! NO NORMAL PERSON WOULD.

No one told me my parcel was damaged until I phoned about 20 times.

They had more than enough time to get the decent parcel and deliver it.

They refunded my R50 express delivery and gave me a R150 goodwill voucher. MY DOG FOOD COST ALMOST R600.

I send them a photo of the damaged parcel and told them I want it sorted. I could not return the parcel as MY DOGS NEEDED FOOD AND THEY DID NOT REPLACE THE DAMAGED PARCEL IN 3 DAYS!!! I WAS LEFT WITH NO CHOICE BUT TO USE IT.

They said they cant replace the food as it was not logged as a return. According to me the Brackenfell branch had to log a return when they received the damaged parcel and did not deliver it the Wednesday OR Thursday as they had to. NOT ME!!!

Takealot had more than enough time to sort out the issue. I send them emails and only get responded to after 4 days (IF THEY RESPOND)

This service is pathetic. The previous time I ordered my dog food I also had a delivery issue where delivery just not happened. I eventually got in my car and went to fetch it at the depot Myself.

I would love to see how TAKEALOT is going to resolve this terrible service!
