Item Missing from order and inadequate updates about shipping

I have previously shopped on Takealot for a number of items over the past few years with no issues. However this order has been nothing short of a nightmare!

I placed the order on 10th November 2020 for 3 items and paid in full. The system said it would be delivered on 15th November.

15th November arrived and no updates were made to the system. I eventually queried and was told it would only be delivered on 16th November 2021.

Today 16th November the order arrived with 2 of the 3 items that I ordered. I have queried it and have been told the other item was lost in transit and is now only going to be delivered on 19th November? How is this possible?
