Item delivered with original box damaged and torn

I purchased a BerlingerHaus product from takealot.

Upon delivery I noticed that the packaging was damaged badly. Along the side the box is torn and pushed in and on the opening of the box it is worn out and damaged.. this product is intended as a gift. It did not come in any protective packaging and bubble wrap. I was given the lame standard support that their support assistants offer and was told to log a return... They weren't able to give me a date as to when I would get a new item.. and it was definitely not going to come in time for Christmas. I don't understand how Takealot send out the product with the original packaging damaged! I find this so unacceptable... Makes it look like I purchased an openbox/return item as a gift.

Takealot support does not go further than their processes stated on their site even if they break the rules by sending customers items in poor condition...they don't bother helping.

Even Berlingerhaus was contacted and they pretty much did nothing to assist. Service received from both parties were terrible.
