Impatient delivery man cancelled the order after waiting 5 minutes

I ordered a product I needed for the following day so I paid an additional charge for next day delivery. I knew someone would be home the whole day but after we went to work at 10.30am the delivery guy arrived while a tenant was cycling home. I told the guy to wait outside so I can ask a neighbour to take the product but he waited less than 5 minutes and cancelled the order. He left. It was a simple request, 'wait for me to call the neighbour.'

I'm disappointed in thinking I could rely on the paid service especially considering the product was more than R450 which qualified me for free delivery.

I won't have the product for the event tonight after paying extra. I'm guessing it will be delivered next week Monday, the day it was going to be delivered for free. I will not make the same mistake twice so don't make it once.
