If you can buy a product from another store I advise that you buy from that store and not takealot.

I ordered a GMC portable aircon from takealot (mind you Makro also has the same unit online but I decided to go with takealot and I regret my decision). I ordered on 18 Jan 2023, the app indicated that they will ship on 23 Jan and deliver on 24 Jan 2023. Today it’s 26 Jan 2023, and no delivery and their app still shows that they will deliver on 24 Jan 2023. They have not sent any formal communication about delays or rescheduling the delivery.

I can’t even cancel the order cause apparently it can only be cancelled once I receive an sms with a scheduled delivery date the day before the actual delivery. I have not received an sms as yet. Their delivery terms says it’s between 2 to 5 working days, today it’s the 6th day and the unit is not shipped as yet. With Makro I would have already received my order. I guess we learn from experiences. If I had read the reviews in Hello peter before placing an order I wouldn’t have ordered from Takealot.
