I need my order now

I ordered few items on Thursday and I was told they will be delivered on Friday. As always I arranged for the family member to receive for the since i will be at work. The next day at 9am the courier refused to leave the parcel at home and said they wil come bag layer. On hearing this I arranged to leave work early and I was home by 12pm to wait for the parcel. They never came back. Now when tracking the parcel it shows that they will deliver on 23rd. Am i being published or something. Why should I wait so long for the parcel that was initially delivered in less than 24hrs. Why did they not leave the parcel because it was not the first time a family member received a parcel for me. Please help
