I miss take2

Wow, reading all the complaints here and seeing the no responses (dead silence) from takealot.com (TA) just makes me realize that TA don't care about its customers. True, some complaints here are stupid, but many of them are valid.

My issue with takealot is the delivery service it uses. I have bought a product at TA end of last week. They came to deliver it yesterday just AFTER 5pm, while the sms stated it will be delivered BEFORE 5pm. The delivery guy phoned my wife (I gave her details as the delivery address) at 17:05. My wife already left earlier and there was nobody at the office. My wife told him that he was late. So he asked her what she suggests. So she suggests that he take it back and deliver it the next day. He didn't like her answer. And so it went back and forth. Nothing my wife said had an impact, until I took over and told that he will deliver the next day. End of conversation.

About 10 minutes later, my wife's boss phoned her and told her that he took receipt of the package. Luckily he was still in the office. Apparently Mr. Dipsh(insert two letters), went back and started rattling the office doors. Clearly ignoring my instruction.

I wrote an email to TA shortly after just to receive an automated response back and now I am referred to FAQs. No more email adresses, no more phone numbers.

This is not the first time I had problems with Mr Delivery.

The previous free delivery company that TA used always delivered before 3pm. Now with Mr D it is 5pm. Many people don't work until 5pm anymore.

Sorry TA, but I supported you since the days of Take2, but will not buy from you anymore.

I'd rather go to a brick-and-mortar shop and pay a bit more, and have a face I can speak to when things go wrong or if service delivery is not up to scratch. Not this hanging in limbo over the interweb.
