How Takealot ruined Christmas 2017
Orders were placed online early December 2017 for Christmas gifts. Takealot’s system showed everything was in stock and delivery on 15 December 2017. No delivery received. We had to phone for feedback just to be informed that the stock arrived late at their warehouse. We were given a new delivery date after departing on leave and then had to provide a new delivery address by e-mail, which we did. Despite this we received a call from the courier from the wrong address trying to make the delivery. We then again called and were asked to send an e-mail again with the new delivery address and again we comp****. We had to call twice after that to find out where the parcel is. Yesterday 23 December we received another call from Takealot’s couriers Skynet trying to again arrange delivery at the wrong address. Again we called Takealot to find out what the problem is. Every time you merely have a call centre agent apologising for inconvenience and sending an e-mail the your enquiry has been escalated to the correct department, but no answers. Today, 24 December 2017 we get an sms confirming delivery on 27 December 2017, 2 days after Christmas again at the wrong address. Again we phone Takealot just to be told their couriers Skynet are closed and they cannot trace the parcel. Again you receive a basic apology and receive a standard e-mail but you are no closer to receiving a parcel with Christmas gifts. This has been the worst experience ever. I cannot recommend Takealot to anyone. It is clearly not the Grinch that stole Christmas but Takealot.com that ruined Christmas 2017 for little children.
