Horrible Quality Control
Dear Takealot Team,
We are reaching out to express our concerns and frustrations regarding the control check and return process at Takealot. As one of the country's largest online retailers, it is disheartening to see that complaints and concerns from suppliers like us seem to be falling on deaf ears or being ignored.
The current control check and return process at Takealot is causing significant financial strain on our business. We have received numerous returns where the products are either used or destroyed and these products are just returned in this condition. We then need to cover these costs or attempt to fight our suppliers.
As valued suppliers, we entrust Takealot with our products and businesses. We strongly believe that by addressing these issues and taking suppliers more seriously, Takealot can strengthen its relationships with us and enhance its own success. Listening to and acting upon suppliers' complaints will only contribute to the betterment of Takealot's business operations and their suppliers Nationally.
While we are willing to comply with the intricate processes for selling on their platform and adhere to packaging instructions diligently, we expect Takealot to reciprocate by providing effective solutions and return the professionalism and courtesy. Collaboration and mutual respect in addressing these challenges will ultimately benefit both parties.
It is essential for the protection of both our business and the customers that a strict procedure be followed, ensuring that each returned product is thoroughly inspected by competent and qualified professionals.
Regrettably, due to these lenient policies, buyers in South Africa have taken advantage of the situation by using products until the last day of the warranty and returning them in any condition they see fit. Additionally, there have been cases where broken irreparable products have been swapped with our brand new original products during returns. This behavior is unacceptable, especially considering the scale of your operations as the largest online retailer.
We have reached a tipping point where it is no longer feasible for us to tolerate such abuse. Changes must be made to address these issues promptly.
I look forward to discussing this matter further and finding solutions that benefit both parties.
Sincerely, A Fed Up Seller
