Hisense 65" TV from Takealot.com

I bought a 65" TV. The TV was delivered when I was at work. It was only a week later where I was able to find people to assist me to unpack it. We switched it on and the TV was cracked and had lines on the screen. I logged a return request on the app, the request was rejected within 5 minutes of being logged, the reason for the rejection was that warranty expired in November of 2027. I contacted takealot on their facebook page explained my problem, I also explained that this TV was delivered like this as it had not been unpacked since it was delivered, they referred me to their supplier (Hisense SA) for a warranty claim. I logged the warranty claim with Hisense which was also rejected based on the fact that they do not cover cracks.

I contacted takealot again to inform them on the response that I received from their supplier. I also asked them why they'd deliver a cracked TV to their customers and then refer them to their suppliers when they know that cracks are not covered on those warranties. The only response I got was that they "could not honor the return for a replacement or refund".

I do not recommend buying anything from takealot. I am now sitting with a useless TV that has never been 'used', and that's IF they even gave me a new product like they claim they did. Let's not forget the money that was wasted on this product. I have since canceled all my orders from them and will never buy from them again. As far as first on-line shopping experiences go, it doesn't get worse than this.
