Have to wait a week for a refund buy quock to take the money from your account

I ordered a product then when it's delivered it completely the incorrect item. When I call and speak to a return specialist the guy thando that assisted me tells me I will have to wait up to 5 days for a refunds as this product must 1st go to their warehouse. They quick to take your money back have to wait a week to get your money back. How do a company send you the incorrect product
