Guaranteed Delivery paid for but not honoured!
I placed an order on the 24th of May for some items and saw the delivery date would be later the following week, however I needed the items sooner and Takealot is now offering a subscription to speed this up and as I order a few times seemed worth it. Then after subscribing it gave me a day that mistakenly thought was the 25th of May, my fault but instead had a guarentee delivery of the 1st of June, I messaged Takealot on the Monday letting them know I made a mistake and would it be possible to deliver soon as all items where in stock based on the website. They said they would see if they could and let me know, the agent was helpful and kept me posted but by Friday there was no update so I asked if I am correct it will be delivered the 1st of June as scheduled. No reply until now at just after 3pm on the 1st of June, stating one item is not there and this is the first time I am made aware of this. With the message stating it will be sent once it arrives, no indication of time or when I will get my goods. If there was a delay why not let me know, I have been speaking to you since Monday the 27th of May and yet today the 1st of June I get told one item is not there once there it will be delivered. Takealot should worry more about its own dropping levels of services if it wishes to compete with the new competitors in this space. What happened to keeping us the PAYING customer informed? We understand delays can happen but if no update are we meant to hope and pray it arrives. Also pay for a subscription to reduce the time and get more guaranteed delivery and yet here we are pay for a service and get nothing for it besides poor service and no communications unless I asked. As a long time customer and regular purchaser on the platform I am not impressed at the constant dropping level of client support and will now be cancelling my subscription, less issues that way and possibly only use Takealot if I have to. Another service provider thinking they to big to fail but I welcome the new competitors maybe now you will take customer service seriously but I suspect like other companies in the group nothing will change and a similar fate will be found sadly. Not what we have come to expect from Takealot.
