Formal CGSO Complaint Lodged – No Fair Resolution After Weeks

I am posting an update to my previous complaint, as this matter remains unresolved.

Despite providing Takealot with full documentation, photo evidence, and extensive correspondence regarding underweight Rogue Legion whey protein, no fair or reasonable resolution has been reached. The issue has been ongoing since 13 November 2025.

After weeks of delays, multiple consultants, contradictory information, and long periods with no feedback, Takealot offered a R150 “goodwill gesture”, which does not cover even one product and does not address the core issue of underweight goods sold, supplier non-responsiveness, or the inconvenience caused.

Due to the lack of resolution and ongoing delays, I have now formally lodged a complaint with the Consumer Goods & Services Ombud (CGSO). All supporting evidence has been submitted, including proof of purchase, photos of the sealed underweight products, and the full email trail.

This situation should never have escalated to this level. I am sharing this update so other consumers are aware of the process and the challenges faced when a supplier is unresponsive and the retailer fails to resolve the issue timeously.
