Fiance's Birthday Ruined

So I ordered a new chef knife set for my fiance's birthday well in advance to ensure that it will be ready for her birthday on the Thursday. The package gets delivered on the Wednesday as planned but when I open it there is nothing in the box. I obviously get hold of customer services asap to let them know what is wrong, luckily a very helpful lady called Kelsey gets on this asap and gets things sorted fast. I do later mention to them that this is for a birthday on the Thursday and if they would be able to make it a same day delivery that I would then be 100% happy despite the non-delivery from them. Unfortunately I only get a one-liner "Sorry for truncating your plans" email.

So my fiance didn't have her birthday present on her birthday and it looks like not even the day after, potentially only on the Monday. They could have rectified this buy fixing what they did wrong.
