Faulty, leaking gas stove being returned as is?! Shocked

Hi, I have bought a few things from them over years... Recently, I returned a gas stove as it is leaking gas and 1 canister last me about 40 minutes to cook a meal... used two canisters for 2 meals which 1 canister normally last me over a month.

They now returning my item and should I not be home to accept it, it will be destroyed. I used the item and therefor it does not qualify to be returned. All I want is a correctly working one or as I requested a better brand and I will pay the difference. How can the gas stove use 1 canister a day, NOPE IN UNDER AN HOUR, then I might as well use electricity, much cheaper. My request was clearly to have my faulty gas stove replaced and not refunded...
