FALSE ADVERTISING AND DISHONEST CUSTOMER SERVICE

Takealot don't even deserve a 1 star!!! Shocking service and totally unacceptable response from their agent Raees Salie.

The background: On the 5th May 2020 I searched on the Takealot website for a juicer, which I had been doing research on for a few months already. I found the Kenwood - Large Feed Tube Spin Juicer - JEM500SS for R949. I ordered the juicer, paid for it and received a confirmation of my order, to be delivered on the 14th May 2020. I even accepted the delay, due to the current lockdown situation. Only to receive a cancellation notification 24 hours later, saying: "An inadvertent error caused this product to be shown as available for sale at an incorrect price and with the incorrect description. Upon becoming aware of this error we immediately removed the product from the website." I then noted that Takealot had updated the same add, same product now at the price of R1499. So how come all other stores are forced to honour the price advertised, but Takealot feels that they are above this law. I laid a complaint with Takealot and was told that they will not honour the price given and that the reason for them not being able to supply was due to lack of stock, which is a lie. Disgusting service and will never support Takealot ever again. I have also reported them to the Advertising Regulatory Board and will be laying a complaint with the Consumer Council. Don't support this company, their service is shocking and have now noted a lot of complaints from consumers on hellopeter.
