False Advertising
As a frequent buyer of takealot. I would like to express my disapointment relating to my latest purchase. I was looking to buy a Samsung galaxy S4 battery.the normal price was 360. I had waited a while and noticed that Takealot had a special of 44% off and priced at 239 but was out of stock. I had it on my wishlist for the past week and checked everyday if stock had arrived.<br> <br> Today, to my amazement stock finally came, however the special price was gone and it was now R360.<br> <br> I feel that it is really unfair as the product is advertised at a special but no stock is available and i cannot put a preorder and cannot reserve an item at the special price. But the moment stock does arrive then the price is not honoured as the price shifts back to the normal price. What is the point then of having the special?<br> <br> That is totally unfair and false advertising to the consumer.
We understand your disappointment by not being able to purchase the item at the lower price. Kindly note that when an item sells out it's not a guarantee that we'll be able to purchase or restock it at the same price again as this will depend on our supplier. It's likely that we were able to negotiate a great discount with our buyer on the previous batch of batteries, of which these then sold out. We then replenished the stock but at the regular price. Our complaints team has logged this with our product buyer to confirm if this is the case and will revert back to you soonest.
