Exchange of faulty product botched!

In November 2016 I bought a Lenovo laptop from Takealot.

Since that time I've experienced a problem on the laptop where the screen goes black after about 30 minutes - 1 hour of working.

I eventually contacted Lenovo Support in order to see if it's something that could be fixed by a driver. After 2 weeks going backwards and forwards with the Lenovo Support team, they asked that I take the laptop to their agents in Cape Town, i.e. PartServe, to have the laptop assessed. I did that, and PartServe found that the laptop had faulty parts in it, and that the laptop should be replaced.

When I approached Takealot, I first had an issue, since the understanding of what is required between PartServe (Lenovo), and Takealot, seems to have been misaligned.

After having to fetch the laptop at PartServe again, and taking it to Takealot, the process ran quite smoothly, until the order was placed for the replacement laptop.

On 9 March 2017, a Takealot agent placed the order on my profile for the replacement laptop. A credit and discount was added to this order, since it's a replacement laptop for which I shouldn't pay in anything. The credit and discount amounted to the order having a R0.00 balance, but when looking at the order, it kept saying that it was awaiting payment, even though the balance was R0.00.

Yesterday evening, 13 March 2017, I received an email stating that, since the order wasn't paid, it has now been cancelled by Takealot!

There seems to be a huge problem in the process that Takealot is following get my laptop replaced!

* Firstly, the person that placed the order on 9 March 2017 for the replacement seems to have neglected to complete the order correctly, so that it still showed as Awaiting Payment.

* Secondly, the accounts person who processed the Cancellation on 13 March 2017 didn't look at the order and notice that it has a R0.00 balance and no payment is due.

This now causes the replacement of the laptop to take even longer!

Can someone please follow up on what's going on, because it seems as if Takealot doesn't know what they're doing when it comes to replacing faulty products?
