****ED OFF CUSTOMER
I recently purchased a washing machine trolley from Takealot as I purchased one years ago which broke recently. Because my old one lasted me so long, I repurchased from Takealot and they never had the old one so I purchased a different one. After receiving it, the same day I tried to assemble the trolley. The trolley came with 4 knobs which ***** in the bottom and 1 of those knobs broke whilst assembling the product. The same amount of effort was used for all knobs but 1 broke to the point that the trolley can't be used as it will come loose whilst in motion and probably damage the product even more. I immediately arranged for a return that same night that it was delivered and as per the options given by Takealot I indicated that I am dissatisfied with the product with the reason being the quality is poor and I further explained that the product broke whilst trying to assemble. They collected it and and eventually declined my return because the product needed to be returned sealed as it was delivered and also adding, and I quote "The return has been declined due to faults resulting from normal wear and damage arising from negligence, user abuse or incorrect usage of the product therefore declined". First of all, the product was delivered in a box which was not sealed in any special way, the box is one of those that can seal its self as it has grooves to accommodate the flaps on the side. Secondly, someone please explain to me how does one know that the product is going to be defective by looking at the box and not opening it. Someone please make me understand as 3 Takealot customer service consultants came back with the same stupid answer and they share the link to the website which states this in the return T&C's. I fully understand buyers remorse & user abuse....and that it can be app**** to a situation where there is no defects but the customer just doesn't want it anymore as well as actually using the product in a manner it was not intended to be used which leads to it being damaged or breaking but please explain to me how this rule applies to a product that broke whilst being assembled and I didn't even get to use it!!!! MAKE ME UNDERSTAND!! INSTEAD YOUR 3 DIFFERENT EMPLOYEES REPLY WITH THE SAME DUMB RESPONSE AFTER I AM TELLING THEM I DONT UNDERSTAND. When a customer doesnt understand, train your employees to paraphrase to make the customer understand but further than that, what kind of customer service is this because your response to my return doesn't even make sense, does your employees not know how to 'read to understand' before replying. How do you resonate your reason for declining my return with what has actually happened during my customer journey. I want my money back, thats all I am asking for and I will never purchase these things from your company again.
