Ebooks rented not owned dogey

Books that I have bought from Takealot ebooks are no longer accessible. You pay for them but after a time you no longer are able to access them on new devices . The support people at the company gave me some ******* story about too many downloads. I have never had this problem with Kindle, Google books or Kobo. Don't you not get a proper licence for ebooks! Terribly *********
