Dropping Standards

Ordered an oil fin heater from Takealot.com last week. Product arrived later in the week, late in the day I might add (17:15), and had a bent fin on the heater. I then logged an exchange with Takealot.com which went smoothly enough. The replacement heater then arrived yesterday but it is more my dissatisfaction with the courier company that I am writing this review.

Yesterday, an SMS was sent to me saying that the product will be delivered to me before 17:00. I received two "Please Call Me" SMS's at around 13:30 the same day. Naturally I did not call the number as I did not know who it was. Turns out it was the delivery guy from the courier company (Skynet). Come 17:00, I did not receive any call from the courier company. On the way home I finally received a call at 17:24 from the delivery guy saying he tried to contact me earlier via "Please Call Me" SMS's! That is extremely unprofessional and soured the previous good experiences I had purchasing from Takealot.com. The product was eventually delivered around 17:40 at my home even though I specifically mentioned that delivery should be at my workplace. Due to this experience, Takealot.com would no longer be my first choice when ordering products online.
