Dont trust the prices on Takealot
After seeing that there was a special on the takealot app me and a few friends decided to buy a whole bunch of sleeping bags for an underprivileged camp.<br> <br> We where a bit suspicious of the offer as the price was marked down to R9 from R999 but thought that maybe it was a special to get people to there site.<br> <br> imagine our horror when the following day after payment had been made and receiving an order confirmation, we received another email saying that Takealot had made a mistake and re-furned our original payment into our takealot accounts (not our bank accounts) and that they would give us a R200 give voucher that we could use on there APP. <br> <br> We therefore don't recommend people buying things from this site as they are not true to there word, and there prices.
We sincerely apologise for the frustration and disappointment this situation has caused as this was not our intention. As you've been informed an inadvertent error caused some items from our camping and outdoor department to show as available at an incorrect price. Regrettably we're not able to fulfil orders placed for these items. The immediate and electronic nature of our business unfortunately leaves room for errors such as these to occur, which is why we make provision for them in our T&Cs. To make up for the bad experience we've compensated all customers who were affected by this mistake and will gladly assist in converting your account credit into a refund.
